Meet Mel
Mel Dorman is a former social worker turned real estate entrepreneur, broker, speaker, and advocate for building wealth with purpose. From teaching English to orphans of HIV/AIDS in Uganda to helping women escape sex trafficking in India, Mel has always been driven by a commitment to social impact. After earning her Masters in Social Work from UCLA, she worked in jails, psych wards, and homeless shelters, providing support to those on the margins.
In 2012, Mel’s father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and she realized her passion for helping others hadn’t prepared her to support her own family financially. Determined to change that, she dove into financial literacy and real estate investing. Within five years, Mel achieved six-figure financial freedom using seller financing and creative strategies. What began as a mission to help her family became a message to share with the world.
As a speaker and soon to be author, Mel inspires progressives and realtors to see real estate as a tool for financial independence and community building. When she’s not coaching, she loves hosting dinner parties with close friends, creating spaces for connection over good food and great conversation.
